Dear Molly

Hi baby girl. I just wanted to tell you all about your first month here on planet Earth... First, your arrival into this world was an amazing experience for me and Daddy. We were both so ready for you to be here, and you didn't make us wait very long. After seven hours of Mommy laboring and nine minutes of pushing, you let out your first scream. It was beautiful. You were a sticky, gooey mess and you were completely beautiful. I wish that you could remember the look on your Daddy's face when he first saw you. It was amazing. I knew right then that you already had him wrapped around your tiny little finger. You weighed 7lbs 4oz and were 19 1/4 inches long.

At the hospital, you were breastfeeding like a champ! All of the nurses were so amazed at how well you were doing... and that made me and Daddy so proud. You had to have formula for a few days at home because my milk hadn't come all the way in yet and your little belly wasn't getting full, and I felt so bad for that. I was glad that Daddy got to feed you some though. It was nice for him to get to experience that. But after my milk did come in, you were right back to breastfeeding and eating like a champ!

You had lots of visitors coming to see you in your first month here. My mom, and Nan and Daddy's mom and dad, and my Daddy and Elsie all came to see you! Everyone was so in love with you from the very first minute they saw you! Daddy had to leave when you were almost a month old to go work in Afghanistan. It broke both of our hearts. I didn't want him to leave and miss out on your first year, and he didn't want to leave either. It was very hard.

I weighed and measured you on your 1 month "monthday" and you weighed 8lbs 14oz and were 20 1/4 inches long! You grew so much in just a month! You are so beautiful Molly Jane. Mommy and Daddy love you more than anything else in the whole wide world.

Love,
Mommy
